Fred Perry Bradley Wiggins

We’re excited to announce that the first pieces from the Fred Perry Bradley Wiggins Collaboration are available online and in selected Authentic shops as of today. The launch marks the start of a 6 season collaboration with the Olympic cyclist and mod enthusiast, who also happens to be the current Tour de France leader – go Wiggo!

Wiggins is as much a perfectionist off the bike as on, and was involved in the design process of the collaboration from the very early stages. Inspired by vintage cycling jerseys of the 1960s and the heritage and style of Fred Perry, the non-technical shirts are complete with carefully considered details. The unique slim fit cotton pique shirt is finished with ‘GB tape’ around the neckline, retro metal zips, single zipped pocket to the rear hem and an especially designed ‘Bradley stripe’ around the tip of the sleeves.  The jerseys are completed with Laurel Wreath embroidery to the chest and ‘locker room’ inspired Bradley Wiggins back neck labels. Available in 3 classic colour ways: white, sky blue and black.

Last April, Fred Perry announced a new clothing collaboration with the Olympian and cycling legend Bradley Wiggins. We can finally share exclusive details of the brands collaboration with the current leader of the Tour de France.

Wiggins has been a long time fan of the brand and with his self-confessed modernist credentials the partnership was a perfect fit.

“It’s a partnership I could only have dreamed of…..I have been a lifelong fan of the brand, stemming from my following and commitment to the mod movement and what I believe is Fred Perry’s unparalleled relationship with subculture. My goal has been to develop an authentic, non technical range of off cycle wear that is inspired by the best of the sport’s unique heritage – something I am hugely passionate about. Fred Perry offered me that opportunity.
I’ll never forget the buzz when I first heard that Fred Perry were interested in working with me and since we’ve started work it’s clear that I’m going to have the chance to execute many of my and collaborate on some great ranges in the coming seasons.”
Bradley Wiggins, April, 2012

Cycling jerseys were standard mod-attire during the early 1960’s, and Wiggin’s collection is inspired by this unique relationship between the sport and Subculture.
